Byzantine Weights, Circa 6th-7th centuries. Weight of 1 Nomisma (Bronze, 13x15 mm, 4.01 g, 6 h), a square coin weight for a solidus made from a Half Follis of Justinian I from Ravenna (circa 540s). [D N IVSTINIANVS P P AV] Diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Justinian I to right. Rev. Large monogram; below, K; all within wreath. SB 328c. A very interesting and unusual weight. The obverse almost completely effaced, otherwise, good very fine.
